Careers in the Sports Field

Category:My Blog

Even if you aren’t that much of an athlete, you can actually get really involved in the sports world if you do your research and find ways to do so.

Here are some of the most popular careers in the sports field (other than being athletes).

Sports News/Sports Announcers. Even if you’re just writing sports for your local newspaper, you can still be involved in the local sports scene by going to minor league, college, and high school games. It’s a lot of fun, you get to travel, and you get to watch a whole bunch of different sports throughout the year. As an announcer, you get to comment on what is going on and talk to others about your ideas, too.

Referees and Scorekeepers. If you’ve got a bit of an athletic edge, but you aren’t quite a professional athlete, you can be a referee or a scorekeeper live score. These people are crucial to the sports that they are involved in, and with a bit of training, you can become certified and get involved.

Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy.  If you’re willing to go to school for an extended period of time, and you want to work in the medical field, sports medicine could be a great option for you to consider. Teams and/or colleges will hire several sports medicine professionals and/or physical therapists that help with injuries and work to keep the athletes in a condition where they can excel on the sports field.

So yes, if you love sports, but you can’t even toss a ball, you can still find a career in the sports field. These aren’t the only ways that you can do so, but they are some of the most popular sports careers out there.

BREAKING BASKETBALL WORLD RECORDS

Hi,

I’m a physical education teacher and freelance writer in Toronto, Ontario. I’ve been writing about a variety of sports since 2007, but my main passion is basketball. Besides watching a ton of basketball, particularly the NBA in person and on the Centre basketball TV package, I play in a men’s league and coach my school basketball team.
